In recapping ETF performance in the third quarter of 2019, Zacks featured the U.S. Global GO GOLD and Precious Metal Miners ETF (GOAU) twice. The gold miner ETF appeared on the “5 Winning Global ETF Areas of Q3” list and the “4 Market-Beating Sector ETFs of the Third Quarter” list.
Sanghamitra Saha wrote that five sectors that exceled globally in the third quarter include miners, long-term care, utilities, infrastructure and consumer staples. Of the five ETFs mentioned in the miner category, GOAU was one of them, up 12.5 percent as of October 1.
In the other list, Sweta Killa wrote that GOAU was one of the market-beating sector ETFs of the July to October quarter. “The market turmoil compelled investors to flock to gold as a great store of value and hedge against market turmoil,” Killa reported.
